diggDigg.com is a popular bookmarking site, and it’s easy to use it for droppinglinks to your money sites. The simplest way is to comment on high PR pages on digg and put a link with your choice of anchor text into the comment. While these links are likely to be nofollow, they still help your site rank, because they are counted as links to your site and they influence the relevance of your site. The only thing these links do not do is to pass PR to your site. However, by commenting on high PR pages, the relevance and authority of these links will be very high.

digg Comments

The main problem with this method is how to find these pages where you can comment. PR only accumulates slowly, so it’s very likely that pages with high PR are older pages that are not easy to find from the site’s front page. Also, digg shows only fifty comments on the first page, and the second page is likely to be much lower PR; we therefore want to find pages with a low number of comments and high PR.

Please note that this method finds actual pages with high PR. We’re not relying on the domain PR to ensure that our links will count towards making our site rank.

digg + SEO Quake

PREREQUISITES:

You need to have Firefox installed, and you need SEOQuake installed and enabled.

THE METHOD:

Ensure you have SEOQuake enabled. In Google, enter the following search query exactly:

site:digg.com “Made popular * *, 2007″ AND “0..40 Comments” -inurl:search

This search finds pages indexed from digg.com from 2007 that are popular (hence likely to have high PR) and that have a small number of comments. Next, click on the PR button shown by SEOQuake for the top ten results. Then sort the results by PR, descending.

digg results

You’ll see that you have just found many pages on digg with high PR and low comment count where you can make comments. One hassle with this method is that, to get to the page where you can leave your comment, you need to click through three levels of indirection: first click on the link in Google. Then, click on the link in digg.com – this opens a new tab. Then, click on the Comments link to read the comments; finally, click on Read All Comments, and you’re on the page that actually has the PR and where you want to leave the comment.

OPTIONAL:

Since these pages are relatively old, Google may not recrawl them as quickly as you might like. Therefore you might want to help Google find your new comment on digg and link by pinging the page with either Ping-O-Matic or Pingoat.

Take Care
